The Veterans Day Parade will start at 10:30 Saturday morning at Mallery Park on St. Simons Island and continue to the Casino Bandstand in Neptune Park. 32 Soldiers from the Third Infantry Division will march along Mallery Street with local veterans. Col. Terrance Adams, senior logistics adviser to Task Force Marne at Fort Stewart, will deliver the Veterans Day address. The Veterans Council of Glynn will confer the 2017 Outstanding Community Service Award to Chandra Capps Kendall for her work with veterans and military service families. Navy retiree Zack Hasbrouck will be named the Veterans Council’s 2017 Veteran of the Year.
