One of the nation’s leading experts on warfare will be in the Golden Isles this week. Maj. Gen. Robert H. Scales, U.S. Army (Retired), will open the 2018 Distinguished Speaker Series at the College of Coastal Georgia’s Southeast Georgia Conference Center at 6 p.m. tomorrow night. General Scales’s topic will be “Stretched Thin… America’s Military at Risk — East Asia, the Black Sea area, the Middle East and Africa.” The author of several books, Scales served over 30 years in the Army, earning numerous distinguished awards such as the Silver Star and Legion of Merit. After retiring he founded Colgen LLP, a consulting firm for senior military and civilian leaders in future warfare and national security strategy.
